The Town of Stanley commissioned the design team, led by CMW Design Strategies (CMW), to develop the Town’s Central Business District (CBD) revitalization plan, design guidelines, grant writing and traffic improvement plan. As lead consultant, CMW conducted interviews with stakeholders and facilitated a 2-day community design workshop to create the vision, development guidelines and implementation strategy for the Town. A Master Plan with priority projects and estimated construction cost were developed as well as an implementation plan. The master plan was approved and adopted by the Town Council as well as the Design Guidelines. In addition, CMW initiated meetings with NC Department of Commerce for Main Street Program designation and recommended priority projects for the redevelopment activities for the Town.
