Statewide Asbestos SurveysTwo (2) projects for the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) encompassed asbestos surveys and the preparation of inspection/sampling and management plan reports for 7 miles of steam distribution tunnels and 95 buildings, totaling 2.4 million square feet, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus.

Description
Teaming with another firm, CES personnel completed the asbestos survey for 52 of the 95 buildings and for the tunnel system, and prepared all of the Inspection/Sampling Reports and Management Plan Reports for both projects. This work included the preparation of CAD floor plans for each of the facilities, with each plan depicting, in detail, the positive and assumed asbestos-containing building materials and their locations throughout the buildings. The projects were completed and approved by CDB within a 10-month timeframe.
